Prior to forming Equinox Hotels, Mr. Suleman served in senior management positions with Hyatt Hotels Corporation for over twenty-two years. He was directly responsible for many major Hyatt Hotels. He has served on the board of directors for multiple organizations and is an active participant in numerous community activities. Mr. Suleman graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He has been an invited speaker at many prestigious hotel schools throughout the United States.
He has worked with tent-pole brand’s The Dallas Cowboys, The NY Yankees, the Orlando Magic, and Virgin Group. He spent time working with technology leaders IBM and Panasonic as well as world-renowned hotel brands MGM, Hilton, Marriott and Hyatt. Mr. Dordick has worked in world-class ski resorts Aspen, Vail, and Crested Butte, beach resort destinations throughout the Caribbean and Central America, and for major financial companies like the Blackstone Group and Lindsay Goldberg. Lastly, he has also had the opportunity to work on entertainment projects RockDome and Zero G Colony – a three-day music and technology festival celebrating Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic and featuring Lady Gaga.
Mr. Dordick has worked throughout North America, Latin America, the Middle East and the Caribbean. He has also owned and operated commercial and residential construction companies and has developed hotel, resort, office and residential projects as a principal investor and partner.
Mr. Dordick is a graduate of the University of Colorado, and the University of Denver School of Law. He was a Congressional intern and also interned at the 20th Judicial District in Colorado.
Mr. Fleischman holds an associate degree in hotel management from New York City College of Technology. He is a member of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
Mr. Sikand also set-up and ran a successful company that focused on offering accounting and other back-office solutions to the hospitality industry. His company maintained the books for over 25 hotels and resorts. His model encompassed an integrated and customized approach to solving all of his clients’ back-office needs. At one end of the spectrum, his company’s approach was to provide clients with financial software platforms and assist them in training, implementation, and support for their organizations. At the other end of the spectrum, his company provided a business outsourcing model that managed all the clients’ back-office accounting needs. One of Mr. Sikand’s strengths is analyzing financial statements, keeping expenses in-line with revenues, and maximizing the potential earnings flow-through to the bottom-line. He is also proficient in applying GAAP/GAAS principles to auditing engagements and management reporting.
Mr. Sikand has consulted on computerizing numerous business accounting systems. He is a strategic financial planner for existing and start-up properties, specializing in turn-around and take-over situations. Mr. Sikand holds controller certifications from the University of California at Berkeley, and both a bachelor and master degree in economics from Delhi University and Varanasi University (India), respectively.
Ms. Snyder currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Arlington Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, Arlington Tourism Public Improvement District, Hotel Association of Tarrant County, and Arlington Entertainment Area Management District. Ms. Snyder has also been a guest speaker at local colleges, as well as industry events to encourage and help mentor/develop other hospitality minded individuals.
Mr. Suleman’s education includes a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from Santa Clara University. Moreover, he studied International Business at Imperial College in London, England, and has completed the certificate program from Cornell University in Hotel Real Estate Investments and Asset Management. He is also a registered broker with the Department of Real Estate in California. Combining his hotel operations background with his real estate and financial knowledge, Mr. Suleman has the unique ability to identify high-potential assets, structure deals, and maximize value at the bottom-line while understanding the importance of maintaining a quality product. In the December 2014 issue of Hotel Business Magazine, Mr. Suleman was named as one of 2015’s eight rising stars in the hotel industry.
Mr. Suleman has served on the IHG OA Board of Directors, as Chairman of the Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts Board, Chairman of the IHG Technology Board, and as Chairman/Founder of the Emerging Leaders Council, a group representing the next generation of hotel owners and operators. Mr. Suleman currently serves as Vice Chairman of the IHG Americas Regional Board and on the Editorial Board of Hospitality Design Magazine.
